H.E. The Ambassador Yaqoub Yousef Alateeqi  met with H E The Defence Minister of Republic of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Nazim on Thursday 19/7/2012  at the Embassy premises in Colombo . H E The Maldivian Minister was accompanied by Deputy Ambassador of Republic of Maldives Mr. Hussain Niyaz and Defense Advisor Colonel Mohamed Mukhtar and General Zakariya Mansoor.

During this meeting HE The Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and  the ways of supporting and promoting Kuwait- Maldives relationship in all fields, especially in defence   field. H E The Ambassador expressed his willingness of the State of Kuwait to provide further assistance to Maldives in training ,exchanging experiences and in official matters as well as defense cooperation.

H E The Maldivian Minister   praised the support provide by  the Kuwait Government to Maldives, especially in the field of defence. He also explained the present security situation in Maldives.

سعادة السفير يقيم حفل إستقبال لمعالي وزير الدفاع المالديفي

إستقبل سعادة السفير/ يعقوب يوسف العتيقي بتاريخ 19/7/2012 في مقر السفارة معالي وزير الدفاع في جمهورية المالديف السيد/ محمد نازم والوفد المرافق لمعاليه يشمل كل من نائب السفير المالديفي حسين نياز والمستشار الدفاع الكولونيل/ محمد مختار والعميد الجنرال/ زكريا منصور .

وبحث سعادة السفير مع الوزير المالديفي سبل تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين الصديقين في شتى المجالات لا سيما في مجال الدفاع كما أكد سعادة السفير  إستعداد حكومة بلاده لتقديم كافة المساعدات في مجالات التدريب والتأهيل وتبادل الخبرات والمعلومات والتعاون الدفاعي.

وأشاد  السيد/ محمد نازم خلال المقابلة بالدعم الذي قدمته وما زالت تقدمه دولة الكويت لجمهورية المالديف في مجالات الدفاع. وأطلع على الأوضاع والتطورات الأمنية الراهنة التي تشهدها الساحة المالديفية حاليا.
